Vampire Facial FAQ
What is a Vampire Facial treatment and how does it work?
Platelet Plasma Rich Therapy (PRP) also nicknamed Vampire Facial or Dracula Therapy is an advanced skincare treatment method that harnesses your body’s own natural power to heal itself.
What does the procedure involve?
Taking a small sample of blood from client’s arm, the average sample size of a routine blood test.
The blood is then placed in a centrifuge for a few minutes and spun at high speed.
A sterile syringe is used to withdraw only the PRP (platelet rich plasma) from the sample.
The plasma and serum are extracted and then re-injected back into the client’s skin, which has previously been cleansed numbed using topical anaesthetic.
The procedure also involves microneedling PRP to the desired areas.
Vampire Facelift VS. Vampire facial?
A vampire facelift combines a hyaluronic acid filler with PRP, and because of the instant plumping and smoothing effects of fillers, you’ll see some results immediately
Vampire facials, on the other hand, combine microneedling, which uses tiny needles to make almost undetectable pricks in the skin. This is said to deliver the effects of PRP more deeply into the skin itself
What are the advantages of PRP facial treatments?
PRP facial treatments use your body's own natural resources, minimising the risk of side effects and allergic reactions.
Natural collagen production typically reduces or eliminates lines, folds and wrinkles in a gentle process with little or no swelling, bruising or lumping.
The organic nature of the procedure is ideal for those who wish to avoid synthetic products and processes. PRP therapy is non-gender-specific, so both men and women are able to benefit and enjoy a natural, more youthful look.
PRP facial treatments require no surgical interventions. The improvement to the skin’s appearance after PRP treatment is subtle and natural, with lasting results.

When can you see the results?
Clients will usually feel the effects of PRP therapy immediately after it is performed and during the next few weeks the collagen will begin to grow and generate more and more healthy cells underneath the skin. That is when the optimum results of the procedure are seen and felt.
Depending on the area treated, repeat treatments may be necessary to achieve the desired effect. Facial rejuvenation procedures may require 1-3 treatments yearly, depending on the treatment.
Is it painful?
There is some minor discomfort and a very mild stinging sensation may be felt but these treatments are done with a very fine needle, which will minimise any pain. A light numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to make the process more comfortable.
Are they any side effects?
Your body is unlikely to have adverse effects from this treatment. You may experience mild to moderate swelling/redness or bruising on the treatment area.
